.NAME Domain Names

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. Initially, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can get your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer code from the current domain provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no special prerequisites on who can grab a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.

The .NAME generic domain is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your native language.
